Read every rep on a 2.01-inch screen

The MOSOKI 2.01-inch smart watch is built around its screen. At 2.01 inches, it is one of the largest faces among budget calling watches, and that size pays off when you are mid-workout, breathing hard and trying to read a heart rate or a timer at a glance.

The HD-LCD full touchscreen sits under scratch-resistant glass. Bigger digits mean fewer squints and fewer taps, which keeps the focus on the workout rather than the watch. It is also a friendly choice for anyone who finds small screens hard to read.

Where the big screen helps most:

  • interval timers and stopwatches during circuit sessions
  • heart rate on a treadmill, without slowing down
  • caller names and text alerts during a walk
  • step totals checked at a glance through the day
Face-for-the-job habit: run a busy steps-and-heart-rate face on training days, and a clean photo face for rest days. The switch itself becomes a cue for the day's plan.

More than 200 watch faces are available, and you can build your own. The orange strap and case make the watch quick to find among gym kit and cheerful on the wrist, a small thing that helps it get picked up every morning.

The trade-off of a big screen is a big case. It suits medium and larger wrists best; on a slim wrist it will look bold, and it may catch on tight sleeves.

For a similar 2.01-inch face with blood oxygen, the OICIIDO Z172 is the closest match, while the KIPTUMTEK Y8 pairs a 1.95-inch screen with a flashlight and a 1000mAh battery.

Rotate 100+ sports from skipping to soccer

Variety is one of the best ways to keep training fun, and the MOSOKI covers a lot of it. More than 100 sport modes span walking, running, cycling, skipping, badminton, basketball, soccer and yoga, with plenty more in between.

Logging each session under the right sport keeps the history meaningful. A week that mixes a run, a yoga class and a basketball game looks different from a week of three walks, and seeing that mix is motivating.

A simple four-week variety plan on the MOSOKI:

  1. Week one: three walks and one skipping session.
  2. Week two: swap one walk for a run.
  3. Week three: add a team or racquet sport, such as badminton or basketball.
  4. Week four: add a yoga session for recovery.

Heart-rate monitoring runs during workouts and through the day, and sleep monitoring picks up at night. Together they show whether the new sessions are leaving you energised or wiped out, so you can adjust the plan instead of guessing.

GPS routes come from the connected phone, so bring it along on outdoor runs and rides if you want a map. On gym days, the step sensor and heart rate carry the log on their own.

IP67, rated to 1 metre, handles sweaty sessions, rainy days and hand washing. Leave the watch in the locker for swimming, the shower and the sauna. The review guide explains what IP67 and IP68 cover in everyday terms.

Pair the MOSOKI with FitPro and take the first call

The MOSOKI is controlled from the FitPro app, which carries its 200+ watch faces and settings. The maker's setup notes also mention the H Band app, so follow the QR code in the manual or on the watch to install the one it asks for.

Both iPhones on iOS 8.2 or later and Android phones from 4.4 are supported. Setup in five steps:

  1. Charge the watch for about two hours on the supplied cable.
  2. Install the app from the QR code and allow Bluetooth and notification access.
  3. Pair through the app itself; leave the phone's Bluetooth menu alone.
  4. Approve the second Bluetooth request for calls so the speaker and microphone connect.
  5. Set your step goal, choose a face and switch on the alerts you want.

Once paired, calls work from the wrist. The built-in microphone and speaker let you answer and make calls hands-free, with the phone tucked in a bag or pocket within Bluetooth range. Text message alerts arrive as well.

If the app finds the watch but calls still ring only on the phone, open the phone's Bluetooth list. The watch should appear as a separate audio device; connect it there once.

The battery charges in about two hours and lasts up to 7 days in normal use, or around 20 days on standby. Frequent calls and a bright screen shorten that, so pick a regular charging slot, such as Sunday and Wednesday evenings.

The watch speaks many languages, including English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese and Polish, a real plus in multilingual households. Detailed pairing fixes are in the connection guide, and app downloads and accounts are covered in the FitPro app guide.

Size up the MOSOKI against Alexa and curved-screen rivals

Large-screen calling watches are a popular group, and the MOSOKI competes on screen size and sport variety. Three alternatives show where it leads and where it trails.

  • MOSOKI 2.01-inch: 2.01-inch HD screen, calls, 100+ sports, heart rate and sleep, IP67, up to 7 days, FitPro.
  • OICIIDO Z172: the same 2.01-inch size, with heart rate, blood oxygen and sleep, and 112+ sports.
  • TRAUSI TG08: a 1.83-inch calling watch with Alexa built in, 120 workout modes, IP67 and a 350mAh battery.
  • Qecnato S68: a curved 1.95-inch screen with calls and GloryFit.

The MOSOKI makes sense for anyone who wants FitPro, a very large screen and calls. Choose the TRAUSI TG08 for Alexa on the wrist, or the OICIIDO Z172 for blood-oxygen readings at the same screen size.

A short checklist before ordering:

  • Measure your wrist; a 2.01-inch case is large.
  • Confirm you do not need SpO2 or swimming.
  • Check your phone runs iOS 8.2 or Android 4.4 and later.

Think about who will wear it, too. Older relatives who struggle with small digits often get on best with the largest screen they can find, and the MOSOKI's size plus its long language list make setup and daily use easier for them.

The orange finish is the one colour offered here. If you prefer something quieter for work, a spare strap in black or grey changes the look in a minute, and the watch keeps tracking either way.

Big screen, big choice of sports and calls on the wrist: that combination suits people who like to see their progress clearly and keep workouts varied. More ways to compare budget watches are in the price guide.
