Pick a TG08 finish for your wrist

Take calls and ask Alexa from the TG08 mid-workout

The TRAUSI TG08 puts a speaker and a microphone on your wrist, so a call during a cooldown walk no longer means digging for the phone. Pair it over Bluetooth and you can make and answer calls, skip a track or fire the phone's camera from the watch. Alexa is built in too, which turns the 1.83-inch screen into a hands-free timer and question box.

Here is what the TG08 handles while the phone stays in your pocket or gym bag:

  • Calls: dial out or pick up on the wrist, as long as the phone is within Bluetooth range.
  • Alexa: talk to it straight from the watch for quick answers, timers and reminders.
  • Notifications: calls, texts and apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook, shown in 15 languages.
  • Music and camera control: pause the playlist between sets or snap a group photo from across the room.
  • Everyday tools: alarm clock, stopwatch, calculator, weather and a find-my-phone buzz.

Calling runs through your phone, not a SIM card in the watch. The TG08 behaves like a Bluetooth headset with a screen, so the phone must be nearby and switched on. Leave it in a locker and the watch still counts steps and heart rate, while calls and Alexa wait until you are back in range.

Coach's tip: grant call, contact and notification permissions during the very first pairing, while the phone is in your hand. Hunting for them later in phone settings is how a watch ends up silent on the first long run.

Plan on answering long messages from the phone itself. The TG08's messaging side is built around alerts and reading, which suits a training rhythm: glance at the name, decide if it matters, finish the set. A quick tap on the wrist is often all the interruption a workout needs.

Log 120 workout modes and every night's sleep on the TG08

Fitness is where the TG08 earns its place on the wrist all day. It tracks more than 120 activities, from walking and running to cycling, and keeps a continuous eye on heart rate and sleep. Step counting has a smart filter as well: it only starts recording after 20 steps, so shuffling around the kitchen does not pad the total.

Build a weekly routine around what it measures:

  1. Daily steps: set a target, then let the sedentary reminder nudge you up from the desk every hour.
  2. Workout sessions: start the matching mode before a run, ride or class so time, heart rate and calories land in the right place.
  3. Heart rate: glance at it mid-session to keep easy days easy and hard days honest.
  4. Sleep: wear it to bed and check the night's pattern over breakfast.
  5. Cycle tracking: female cycle reminders sit alongside the fitness data.

Read the numbers as a trend line. An optical sensor on a budget watch shows effort and recovery patterns well, but it is not a medical device. Sleep stages work the same way: they are estimates built from movement and pulse.

Where IP67 draws the line

The TG08 is rated IP67. Under the IEC standard that means no dust gets in and the case survives immersion to 1 metre for up to 30 minutes. Sweat, rain and hand washing are all fine. Pool laps, diving and hot showers push past what IP67 is tested for, through pressure, chlorine and steam.

Swimmers who want lengths counted should look at a band rated 5ATM instead. The steps, sleep and swimming breakdown sets the water ratings side by side.

Pair the TG08 once and charge it once a week

Setup follows the same short routine as most budget calling watches. Charge the TG08 fully first, install the companion app named in its user manual, then do the pairing in that app and skip the phone's Bluetooth settings. It works with iPhones on iOS 9.0 or later and Android phones on 5.0 or later.

  1. Top the watch up on its own cable until the battery icon reads full.
  2. Get the app the manual names and sign up for an account.
  3. With Bluetooth on, grant notification, call and location access as prompted.
  4. Bind the watch from the app, then approve the pairing prompt on both screens.
  5. If the phone offers a second, audio-only pairing for calls, accept it.

Location permission matters because the TG08 has no GPS of its own. It borrows the phone's GPS for outdoor routes, so carry the phone on any run you want mapped. Pairing fixes for both phone types live on connecting a FitPro-style watch.

A battery routine that sticks

TRAUSI rates the 350mAh lithium-ion cell at five to seven days of everyday wear, stretching to a month when the watch sits idle. Frequent calls, Alexa questions and high brightness drag it toward the lower end. The easiest habit is a fixed weekly slot, such as Sunday breakfast, so the watch never dies on a Friday run.

  • Wipe sweat off the back of the watch before it goes on the charger.
  • Use a computer USB port or a small phone adapter.
  • Pack the cable for any trip longer than five days.
  • Lower screen brightness and trim app alerts if the week keeps running short.
Lost the cable? Look at the charging contacts on the back of the TG08 and measure the gap between their centres before ordering a spare. The charger pin guide shows the common sizes.

Choose your TG08 finish, or its TK29 twin

The TG08 comes in four finishes with the same watch inside: Matte Black, Matte Pink, Cameo Pink and Basalt Black. All four share the 1.83-inch IPS screen, Bluetooth calling, IP67 and the 350mAh battery. Pick by colour and by how the strap looks with your usual kit.

Before you buy, run through this short checklist:

  • Wrist size: a 1.83-inch rectangular face reads large on a slim wrist, so hold a ruler across yours first.
  • Swimming: IP67 is not a pool rating.
  • Phone: iOS 9.0+ or Android 5.0+, and the phone stays nearby for calls and Alexa.
  • Warranty: the maker covers 90 days.

The closest match in the line-up is the DIVOAZBVO TK29. It shares the 1.83-inch 240 × 284 IPS panel, 120 sports modes, IP67, the 350mAh battery and the same 20-step counting filter. The TG08 names Alexa built-in, while the TK29 lists a voice assistant without naming it.

If blood oxygen matters to your training, the KIPTUMTEK T7 adds SpO2 and ships with a spare strap. For the wider spread of calling watches and their model codes, the model decoder lines them up.

Warm-up questions

Before you strap it on

Can the TRAUSI TG08 make calls without a phone?

No. Calls run over Bluetooth through your phone, so keep the phone powered and within range.

Does the TG08 have Alexa?

Yes. Alexa is built in, so you can talk to it from the watch for answers, timers and reminders while the phone is connected.

Can I swim with the TG08?

Not for laps. Its IP67 rating handles sweat, rain, hand washing and a short dip down to 1 metre. Take it off for pool laps, open water and hot showers.

How long does the TG08 battery last?

The 350mAh battery is rated for 5 to 7 days of normal use and up to 30 days on standby; heavy calling shortens it.

Why does the TG08 not count my first few steps?

Step recording starts after 20 steps in a row, which filters out small movements that are not real walking.
