Take calls on the FITVII HM57 without breaking stride

The FITVII HM57 blurs the line between a fitness tracker and a calling watch. It keeps the health focus of a tracker, with heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen and sleep, but adds a 1.85-inch HD screen and an AAC audio speaker for Bluetooth calls. Contacts live on the watch, so you can ring someone back from the wrist.

That makes the HM57 a good fit for walkers and gym-goers who keep the phone in a bag. A call during a cool-down lap is answered on the wrist, and texts and app notifications arrive on the same screen.

What the HM57 brings together:

  • Calling with AAC audio. Answer and make calls, with contacts stored on the tracker.
  • A full health set. Heart rate and blood pressure around the clock, blood oxygen checks, sleep stages and guided breathing.
  • 120+ sports modes. Plus automatic detection for five common workouts.
  • Everyday extras. Calculator, calendar, weather, stopwatch, countdown timer and alarm.

More than 150 watch faces are available, and a photo face turns your own picture into the background. Brightness and screen-on time are adjustable, a small setting that has a big effect on how long the battery lasts.

Speed-dial setup: load a short list of watch contacts, the partner, the parent and the training buddy, before anything else. Mid-run, one tap should reach them.

The side button plus touchscreen combination makes it easy to wake the tracker or back out of a menu with sweaty fingers, when swipes are less reliable.

Music control and a camera remote cover the phone jobs, and find-my-phone makes the handset ring when it has slipped under a gym bag.

Let the HM57 auto-detect your walk, run or row

Forgetting to press start loses more workouts than anything else. The HM57 recognises five activities on its own: walking, running, cycling, the elliptical and the rowing machine. When it notices one, it prompts you to record it, so a spontaneous walk home still counts.

For everything else there are 120+ sports modes, from gym classes to outdoor sports. Steps, distance and calories are counted all day, workout or not.

Build a week around the HM57 like this:

  1. Pick a daily step target and let auto-detection catch the walks you did not plan.
  2. Turn on sedentary reminders for working hours, so long desk spells get broken up.
  3. Add water reminders on training days.
  4. Use guided breathing for a minute after a hard session or before bed to slow things down.
  5. Check sleep stages each morning and look for the link between late workouts and restless nights.

Heart rate and blood pressure are tracked 24/7, and blood oxygen can be checked any time. FITVII positions these readings as encouragement for a healthy lifestyle, not medical measurements, so look at the weekly pattern rather than one number.

  • Menstrual tracking records cycle dates and changes.
  • An alarm wakes you with vibration.
  • Weather forecasts help plan an outdoor session.

The auto-detection also helps with honest records. A rowing session or elliptical workout logged under its real name gives a truer calorie and heart rate picture than lumping it into generic exercise.

All of it syncs to the companion app, where the data turns into charts by day and week. The app guide explains downloading, QR pairing and permissions for this style of tracker.

Charge the HM57 on a 5V adapter and keep it dry

The HM57 is picky about power in one specific way. It is designed for a standard 5V charger, and fast chargers or high-wattage adapters can stop it charging or interrupt the charge. A laptop USB port or a basic phone adapter is the safe choice.

  1. Charge fully on the included cable from a 5V USB source before first use.
  2. Install the companion app on an Android 7.0+ or iOS 13.0+ phone and turn on Bluetooth.
  3. Add the tracker in the app, then accept the call-audio pairing so calls come through the speaker.
  4. Allow notifications and pick which apps can alert you.
  5. Set brightness and screen-on time to the lowest levels you find comfortable.

Standard mode gives up to 7 days of use. When you need to stretch a charge, such as a long weekend away, power-saving mode extends standby beyond 15 days.

What IP67 allows

IP67 protects against rain, sweat and splashes, and the rating allows brief immersion. FITVII rules out diving and surfing, and it makes sense to treat pools the same way. Take the HM57 off for swimming, hot showers and saunas.

  • Dry the charging contacts before connecting the cable after a sweaty workout.
  • Replace the 22mm TPU band once it looks tired; any 22mm quick-release strap fits.
  • Restart the tracker if calls stop routing through it, then re-check the audio pairing.

More on cables and battery life sits in the charger guide, and pairing fixes live in the connection guide.

HM57 or the slimmer HM08, TG38 or IDW26

FITVII's own HM08 and a couple of calling watches are the natural comparisons. The HM57 wins on its mix of calls and a complete health set, while each rival is stronger at one thing.

FITVII HM081.47-inchNoIP68
Jacoosa TG381.83-inchYesIP68
IDW261.83-inchYesIP68

The FITVII HM08 is the slim, bracelet-style sibling with up to 10 days of battery and no calling. The Jacoosa TG38 adds IP68 and 140 sports modes but drops blood oxygen. The IDW26 brings Alexa and blood oxygen through the VeryFit app.

Before choosing the HM57, check these points:

  • Water: IP67 suits rain and sweat, not pool laps.
  • Charger: 5V only; fast chargers may not work.
  • Phone: needs Android 7.0 or iOS 13.0 or newer.
  • Band: 22mm TPU with a tang buckle.

Size is the other real choice. A 1.85-inch screen reads easily mid-workout and shows a whole text at once, but it sits wider on a small wrist than the HM08's narrow pod. If you mostly want sleep and step data and rarely take calls away from the phone, the HM08's extra battery days may matter more than the speaker.

Those who do want to talk from the wrist gain a lot from the HM57's contact list and five-activity detection, two features that save time every single day.

For a tracker that talks, counts every walk and keeps a full picture of heart, oxygen and sleep, the HM57 covers a lot of ground. Anyone who swims regularly should look for a 5ATM band instead.

Warm-up questions

Before you strap it on

Does the FITVII HM57 dial out as well as pick up?

Yes. It answers and makes Bluetooth calls through its AAC audio speaker, with contacts stored on the tracker.

Which charger should I use for the HM57?

A standard 5V charger or a computer USB port. Fast chargers and high-wattage adapters can stop it charging or interrupt the charge.

Can I swim with the HM57?

No. It is IP67 rated for rain, sweat and splashes; FITVII says it is not suitable for diving or surfing, so the pool is off limits.

How long does the HM57 battery last?

Up to 7 days in standard mode, and over 15 days of standby in power-saving mode.

Which workouts does the HM57 detect automatically?

Walking, running, cycling, elliptical and rowing machine sessions.
